Delivery FAQs
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery costs are based on the volumetric weight of the order. This is calculated at the checkout. Delivery costs are worked out in 1KG increments. This means small items such as paperknives will be charged as a whole Kilogram. Small items can be sent by Royal Mail at a much smaller cost. Please contact us if you wish to place an order for a small item.
Who are your delivery agents?
We use Parcelforce and Royal Mail within the U.K. Delivery outside the U.K. will handled by your local carrier.
When will you dispatch my order?
If in stock and the order is placed before 14:00 then orders are usually dispatched same day. We aim for a 5 day turnaround. We stock around half the items shown on the site. Other items have to be ordered in. This can take 1 – 2 weeks. Sometimes items are out of stock with the manufacturers, delivery times can be up to 3 months if this is the case (although this is rare). We will inform you of any delay in dispatching your order.
How long does delivery take?
Deliveries outside Europe can take from 3 – 10 days to arrive depending on destination. Sometimes delivery can take longer due to problems at local depots.
Can I track my order?
At the point of dispatch we email you with international tracking codes for Parcelforce. Items sent through Royal Mail (small items) are sent recorded and can only be tracked after delivery. If your item does not arrive 5 days after dispatch has been confirmed please contact us.
Can I have my order delivered to my work address?
Yes, we prefer this. It means that somebody will be there to accept delivery!
Customs & Excise Procedures
For sales outside of Europe, you may be charged tax or duty according to your local laws. These charges must be borne by you as we have no control over them and cannot predict what they may be. Normally, you pay these taxes to the local Postal or Delivery Service.
Under international law, you are considered to be the importer of the item and you who must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods before you order. Customs policies can vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office if you require further information.
All our international customers should note that cross-border deliveries may be subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. Further, we may be required to supply details about the order to customs authorities in order to facilitate customs clearance and to comply with local laws.
Generally, all customs forms for international packages require us to list the value of the contents of your order by product type.
Returns
On receipt of your consignment, please inspect contents immediately. Whilst every care is taken to ensure suitable packaging has been utilised, all observations of damage or missing items must be reported to us within three working days. If you receive an item which is damaged due to shipping, please notify us by email/telephone and we will arrange a replacement.
Refunds
Refunds will only be given at the discretion of the Company Management.
Please note that where a refund is agreed for items no longer wanted by the customer there will be a re-stocking fee of 10% of that items price. We will also not refund any postage costs including that of sending items to the customer initially or that incurred by the customer to send items back to Knights Gone By.
